I actually had to write 500 to get to those 26, stream-of-consciousnessing my way to where the story begins. Okay, I’ll take it. It’s 26 words more than most people I know wrote today.

are you only counting the words you’re using?I don’t think that’s right, if you’re writing more you should count them, because even if they don’t go in the book they’re still work on the book.
Hm. I’ll consider it. Right now I’m counting the words toward the 80k.
I will note that kit appears to count “words written this year”. Perhaps I should go that route….
